Usually horizontal lines would make you look wider, but in this case it looks very good on her. The horizontal lines come from the layers of the lower part of her dress, and the belt. Now at the top part of her there are vertical lines which makes her upper body look longer. This dress is very slimming and is a great example of horizontal lines.
